
Author Guidelines
Scope and Language
Submissions must be original works written in English and must contribute to research in the social sciences that engages substantively with Islamic studies across Asia, in accordance with the journal’s focus and scope.
Manuscript Preparation
Manuscripts should be prepared using Microsoft Word on A4-sized paper and should comprise approximately 6500 to 8500 words, excluding references. Text must be formatted in Book Antiqua, 11-point font, with single-line spacing. The number of authors per manuscript must not exceed five.
Manuscript Structure
Each submission must include the following sections, presented with clear headings and following the structure outlined below.
1. Title
The title must be concise, clear, and informative, not exceeding fourteen words. Abbreviations and jargon should be avoided.
2. Author Details
Author names should be listed without academic degrees. Institutional affiliation(s), including city and country, must be stated beneath each name. The corresponding author should be indicated with an asterisk and must provide an email address for communication. Only the corresponding author will receive editorial correspondence.
3. Abstract and Keywords
The abstract should comprise 175 to 200 words and be fully self-contained, outlining the research problem, objectives, methods, and primary findings. Authors must include four to five keywords, arranged alphabetically, which accurately reflect the content of the manuscript.
4. Introduction
The introduction should clearly present the context, rationale, and significance of the study. It must clearly state the research objectives or hypotheses and incorporate relevant and current literature where applicable.
5. Method
This section should provide a transparent and detailed account of the research design, data collection methods, and analytical procedures, enabling readers to assess the study’s reliability and replicability. Any theoretical or methodological choices must be adequately justified.
6. Results and Discussion
Results should be organised in relation to the research questions or objectives and presented with appropriate supporting data. The discussion should interpret the findings in relation to existing literature, demonstrating scholarly insight and critical analysis. Tables and figures must be numbered sequentially, appropriately titled, and referenced within the main text.
7. Conclusion
The conclusion should summarise the principal findings in relation to the research objectives and may offer recommendations or suggestions for future research. Repetition of material from earlier sections should be avoided.
8. Acknowledgements
This section should acknowledge individuals, institutions, or funding bodies that have contributed significantly to the research.
9. References
References must conform to the American Psychological Association (APA) 7th Edition style and be managed using Mendeley. The reference list should be arranged in alphabetical order. A minimum of thirty references is required, with at least eighty per cent drawn from recent primary sources such as journal articles, theses, or dissertations published within the last ten years. Every in-text citation must appear in the reference list, and all referenced works must be cited within the manuscript. Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) should be included in full URL format where available.
Tables and Figures
All tables and figures must have clear, descriptive titles and must be cited in the main text. They should be provided in editable formats and in high resolution where necessary. Single-line spacing must be used within tables and figures.
Submission and Review
Manuscripts undergo anonymous peer review by at least two independent reviewers. Authors may be required to revise their manuscripts in response to reviewers’ or editors’ comments. Notification of acceptance or rejection will be communicated to the corresponding author via email. The editor reserves the right to revise manuscripts for clarity, style, and accuracy.
Copyright, Permissions, and Ethical Considerations
Authors are responsible for obtaining all necessary permissions for the use of copyrighted materials, including figures, software, and third-party content. The journal adheres to strict ethical standards; plagiarism, falsification of data, or other forms of academic misconduct will result in immediate rejection.
